Every effort is made to capture the personality and beauty of your pet in the portrait. If you are unhappy with the way your portrait turned out, your deposit will be returned.

Color or black & white?

Portraits are available in charcoal with the occasional use of Conte pencils (black and white) on Canson MiTientes mid-toned or light-toned paper, or pastel (color).

10% of the proceeds from your pet portrait help support Hearts and Paws, a local cat shelter/sanctuary.

If you prefer that your donation go to a different shelter, please mention so at the time of your order.

Timing

The amount of time it takes for you to receive your completed drawing will depend on the number of commissions I am currently working on. You will be given an estimate when you place your order. Please mention if you would like your drawing for an upcoming date and I will make every effort to accomodate your schedule.

Photo Shoots

If you feel you don't have any sufficient photos from which the artist can work, and you live within a reasonable distance from Philadelphia, we can discuss setting up a photo shoot. There is an additional cost for this service which depends upon the subject matter and travel time.

Gift Certificates

Gift certificates are available. If you are interested in purchasing a gift certificate, please contact me via email or call 856-685-7026. Payment for gift certificates is due up-front.

Order

Choose photo(s). The first step will be to determine an appropriate photo on which you would like your drawing to be based.
The best photos from which to work are ones that capture the unique personality of the subject that you would like drawn. Be sure to include at least one photo where the eyes of the subject are clearly visible, preferably taken in natural lighting where no red-eye from the flash is apparent. If you have more than one photo that you like and can't decide which would make the best drawing, feel free to send more than one photo and I can help you determine which one will make the best drawing. The other photos will be used for reference.

If you are having trouble finding the perfect photo, or if you are running into a deadline, gift certificates are also available.

I will review with you the subject matter of the drawing you would like (i.e. head shot or full body) and the size of the drawing you would like to order. I will also answer any questions you might have.
Send in photos (and order form if applicable). 50% deposit due. Photos will be returned along with the finished product. Please email me sharon@skmiller.com for information about emailing digital photos or mailing photos.
Review the completed drawing. When I have completed the drawing, an image will be emailed to you or posted on the web site for you to review. If you are not satisfied with the drawing, we can discuss revision options. If these options are unsatisfactory, your deposit will be returned.
Payment balance due. Payments can be made with check or money order (US dollars).
Receive completed drawing. After your payment has been received, you will receive the completed product along with any photos that you sent.
